Kollam temple fire: PM Modi, CM Oommen Chandy announce compensation

While PM Modi announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh, Kerala CM announced compensation worth Rs 10 lakh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced Rs 2 lakh as compensation for the next of the kin of the dead in Kollam temple fire in which over 100 people have been killed and many injured.'

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy also announced ex-gratia relief of Rs.10 lakh to the kin of each of those killed.

The Prime Minister announced Rs 50,000 each for the injured in the tragedy that occurred early Sunday morning in Puttingal Devi Temple near Kollam town. Chandy announced Rs two lakh for each of those seriously injured.
