According to the police, six people have been arrested for assaulting this woman who has been identified as Josna Sibi, 28. The incident took place at a village in the district on 28th January.

A profusely bleeding Sibi was rushed to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital where she had to undergo an abortion, they added.

A complaint was lodged by her in this connection on February 2.
