Indian soldiers launched a calibrated fire assault against the Pakistani army and killed two of their soldiers a day after an Army jawan was killed on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kupwara district, J&K.
“Our troops carried out calibrated operations last night in which two Pakistani soldiers were killed,” said Colonel Rajesh Kalia, defence spokesman at Srinagar.
The fire assault was launched hours after sepoy Pushpendra Singh was martyred during counter-infiltration operations in Tangdhar sector on Monday.
The incident occurred when the Army noticed suspicious movements along the LoC. The troops immediately took their positions and challenged the infiltrators, who opened heavy volume of fire in which Singh suffered gunshot wounds. “Sepoy Singh was provided immediate first aid, said Colonel Kalia.
