Indian Oil Corporation website hacked, now restored

On Wednesday website of PSU Indian Oil corporation was hacked by alleged Turkish hackers. No hackers have formally taken the responsibility of that cyber attack, though twitter handle of the hackers can be seen in the screenshot.

This is not the first incident when websites of Indian government or associated organisations were hacked. In early 2014, over 2000 Indian websites fell pray to cyber attack by Pakistani hackers. Same wave of attacks came in November when 22 Indian government websites including organisations of states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha.

It may be a retaliation to the Department of Telecom order of blocking 32 Websites including video platforms like Dailymotion and Vimeo as they were carrying Anti-India messages.
