Indian monsoon arrives with full force, covers the entire country

The southwest monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of north Arabian sea, Saurashtra, Kutch, Gujarat region and west Rajasthan. It covered the entire country today.

The low pressure area over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood now lies over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood. Associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 4.5 kms a.S.L. The axis of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through Anupgarh, Kota, centre of low pressure area, Daltonganj, Digha and thence southwestwards to east central Bay of Bengal.

It extends upto 4.5 kms a.S.L. Passing across the same region. A cyclonic circulation extending upto 1.5 kms a.S.L. lies over Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand embedded in the above trough.

The off-shore trough at mean sea level now extends from Gujarat coast to Karnataka coast. The cyclonic circulation over northeast Arabian sea and adjoining Gujarat persists between 1.5 and 5.8 kms a.S.L.

The feeble trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 kms a.S.L. Runs roughly along Longitude 72 degree east to the north of Latitude 30 degree north persists. System would move east north eastwards.

The cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood has become less marked. The southwest monsoon has been active over Uttarakhand, Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. It has been subdued over Rayalseema.

Total rainfall during the past 24 hours reported by 404 stations in the plains is 367.4 cms. Normal for these 404 stations is 462.8 cms.
