Indian army man flies to Sochi

Almost a week after its start, a three-member delegation from India went to participate in Sochi Winter Olympics and one of them – Havildar Nadeem Iqbal – is an army man.

According to the army, the 30-year-old Iqbal, who is from Jammu and Kashmir, participated at various national and international ski championships before qualifying for the Winter Olympics.

Iqbal has been a national champion from 2009-2013 and also secured the first position in the first South Asian Winter Games in Auli (Uttarakhand) in 2011.

Amongst his international outings, lies the 7th Asian Winter Games in Almaty (2011), Federation of International Ski (FIS) Races in Shemshak (2013) and the FIS Nordic World Skiing Championship in Italy (2013).
