A 43-year old man was stabbed by his boyfriend allegedly for demanding sexual favours in Maharashtra's Pune district.

The incident took place on Wednesday at the victim's residence.

"On the basis of a complaint from a 46-yr-old man, we have registered a case under 307 IPC for attempt to murder against his 23-yr-old partner," said Pune police.

According to a report, the accused visited the complainant and they had sex. However, when the complainant again wanted to have sex in the morning, the accused refused.

The victim has been admitted to the hospital and his condition is said to be stable.

Police did not disclose names of both the men.

Earlier this month, a five-judge constitution bench of the Supreme Court unanimously decriminalised part of the 158-year-old colonial law under Section 377 of the IPC which criminalises consensual unnatural sex, saying it violated the rights to equality.

In four separate but concurring judgements, the top court set aside its 2013 verdict in the Suresh Kaushal case which had re-criminalised consensual unnatural sex.
