M Veerappa Moily, union minister for petroleum and natural gas, is seeking re-election from Chikballapur. Despite anti-incumbency, he is trying his best to get elected to the Lok Sabha from here. He has succeeded in getting senior Congress leader RL Jalappa's support and Bagepalli MLA Subba Reddy (Independent) to better his chances of tasting the success.

Are you for foreign direct investment in retail trade?I am not against to foreign direct investment as long as it doesn't affect retailers.What are the hurdles that you still find in solving drinking water crisis in Chikkaballapur constituency?With the foundation stone for Ethinahole laid on March 3, 2014, the work has begun at the sight on the other end. As it is there are no hurdles. In less than 36 months the people of this region can reap the benefit of this unique, historic project. Additionally nearly a crore people of neighbouring districts of Kolar, Tumkur, Bengaluru rural and urban,can also be the beneficiaries of this drinking water project. .
