Google saluted the spirit of womanhood on the 102nd International Women's Day on March 8 by dedicating a doodle to the fairer sex that has 27 faces of women from around the world.

However, unlike previous years, Google has not posted the International Women's Day doodle on its India homepage this year. The doodle can be found on its UK homepage (www.google.co.uk).

The doodle, which shows Google's logo in the gaps between the faces of the women, prominently features the face of an Indian woman with a red bindi on her forehead. Another face in a blue hijab is also visible.

Google has dedicated doodles to International Women's Day on five previous occasions with the first being in 2005.

The 2013 International Women's Day doodle is said to be the 1325th Google Doodle since the first ever, which appeared in honour of the Burning Man Festival on August 30, 1998.
