Even doing a harmless job like gardening can land some one in jail! That's what happened to a person in Uttar Pradesh who attracted the fury of an IAS officer for 'disturbing' her yoga routine. Vishwanath Yadav, a gardener from Gorakhpur, was jailed for 'disturbing peace 'of UP Cadre IAS officer Neha Prakash, but was finally released after city magistrate intervened into the matter.

Yadav was booked for 'disturbing public peace' under section 151 of IPC. An English news channel reported that the officer was practising yoga at the Pandit Govind Ballab Pant Park on Tuesday morning when this incident took place.

Yadav was cutting grass using a machine at the park, managed by Gorakhpur Development Authority which comes under the Cant Police station area, closer to the Gorakhpur University. An eyewitness narrated that the officer told Yadav  she was allergic to dust. Yadav immediately stopped the work but resumed back after some time which really angered the officer. He was arrested by the Cant Police station on Tuesday evening.

In an interview given to the channel, BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Patak said, “The government has no control over its officers. It’s ironical that an SP leader who eve teases a girl is at large and a poor gardener lands behind bars,” The channel also reported that the Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP has accused the IAS officer for 'misusing' her position and have demanded an action against her.

Neha Prakash, a 2012 batch IAS officer hails from Patna. She graduated from the Indian Institute of Management(IIM) in Lucknow. Her husband, Vaibhav Srivastava is an IAS posted as District Magistrate  (DM) in the Mau district.
