GP Raju, the lawyer for the Kannada actor and model who has accused Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda's son Karthik Gowda of cheating on her, said Thursday that there is enough circumstantial evidence to prove the involvement of the latter.

The model is claiming that she married Karthik Gowda on June 5 after meeting him on May 8, but since then he has been engaged to another woman.

Raju told ANI: "We have a CD which has a one- hour long recorded conversation between her (the model) and Karthik Gowda. In that recording, he accepts that she is his wife."

Terming the whole episode as a clear case of cheating, Raju said the model approached him only after she came to know that Karthik Gowda had been engaged to another woman. "This is purely a case of cheating. This is a breach of trust. She was a friend, and later, their friendship was converted into love, and afterwards, they married. They lived together for two days as husband and wife in the house which belongs to Sadananda Gowda's family. Now, she has been denied by Karthik's getting engaged to another woman, which is not correct," he said.

"She came to know of the other woman and his engagement only through the media," added Raju.

Raju further said the model has been asked by Karthik's friends not to approach the media.

A case was filed against Karthik Gowda under Sections 420, 376 and 406 (charges relating to cheating, rape and dishonesty) of the Indian Penal Code on Wednesday. The model said, "We have known each other since May 8. This was after election, before the result. We became very close friends. We met because my family was looking for a groom, so for that reason I met Karthik. So he promised me that he will marry me. So he got married to me on June 5, in his Mangalore house."

"His mother was not there. We both were there and driver was there," she added.

The model said she wanted his family to accept her as their daughter-in-law, "I want his family to take me as their daughter-in-law. I will be a very good daughter-in-law."

Sadananda Gowda rejected the allegations saying, "I am shocked to see this report. It has hurt me, because my personal and public life is an open book".
