Elections 2014 results: Trinamool Congress leads in 9 Bengal seats

West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) was ahead in nine of the 13 seats for which trends were available in the state. The BJP was ahead in three and CPI-M in one.

Among the Trinamool candidates who are in the lead are former railway minister Dinesh Trivedi (Barrackpore), party supremo Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee (Diamond Harbour), state party chief Subrata Bakshi (Kolkata South), and former union minister Sudip Bandyopadhyay (Kolkata North).

Bollywood singer and BJP candidate Babul Supriyo was ahead in Asansol while his party colleague SS  Ahluwalia has left behind his opponents, including former Indian soccer captain Bhaichung Bhutia of Trinamool, in Darjeeling.
