Condemning the Opposition for making a mockery of farmers of the state, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that the Opposition is frustrated by defeats in successive elections.

Addressing a press conference at Vidhan Bhavan, Fadnavis said that the Opposition is directionless which is why they were not raising the issues of people. Expressing his agony over the Opposition, Fadnavis said that they did not have any seriousness while raising the issue of farmers and in a way they have made mockery of farmers of the state.

Fadnavis said, "Opposition has right to protest but during entire budget speech, the Opposition MLAs were in the well of the House and were roaming around as if they are in a garden having a walk. They were cracking jokes and were not at all serious about their protest. They are frustrated with defeats in every other election since people have come to know that it is these people who have created all these problems."

Pointing out that the Opposition set ablaze a copy of the Budget papers, Fadnavis said, "It's an act which brings shame to state." He said that whether it was protest in the well of the House or burning of the Budget papers, the Opposition had not behaved in a manner which would be in tune with democratic set-up.

Terming the Budget as the one which would provide impetus to agricultural growth in the state, Fadnavis said that it was a progressive budget. He said that after his government had come to power, the department for relief and rehabilitation was giving a thrust to investment in agriculture.

Replying to whether he would be going to Delhi as a Minister in the Union Cabinet, Fadnavis asked, "Have I reached a stage where you people don't want me here?"
