Delhi Fog Alert: 30 trains behind schedule, 10 cancelled

'Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) woke up to Moderate fog in the city that continues to affect the train services. The temperature was recorded at 11 degree Celsius.

'Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) woke up to Moderate fog in the city that continues to affect the train services. The temperature was recorded at 11 degree Celsius. 

Due to low visibility trains run at a highly-restricted speed to ensure the safety of the passengers causing considerable delays in their movement.

The train services of Northern Railways continues to suffer as over 30 trains are arriving late and 10 have been cancelled due to operational reasons.  


Northern Railways earlier had cancelled trains due to dense fog and later took to Twitter to inform the rescheduling of cancelled or delayed trains. 

Meanwhile, the Air Quality Index of Delhi's central Lodhi Road area continued to remain in the 'poor' category.

Delhi's air pollution makes it an 'unliveable' city in India and the situation worsens during the winters. However, Air pollution is the key point of discussion in World Sustainable Development Summit organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (Teri). 

The event will also be attended by Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Suresh Prabhu, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri HardeepPuri, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Shri Jayant Sinha and other key leaders.
