A police constable attached to the Quick Response Team (QRT) of Mumbai police suffered an injury after his service pistol fired accidentally.
The incident took place yesterday morning outside a five-star hotel near Gateway of India in south Mumbai, police said today.
Constable Laxman Raut (29) was checking his Glock pistol sitting in a patrolling vehicle when it suddenly went off and the bullet hit his hand.
He was taken to a government-run hospital for treatment.
The gunshot led to a momentary panic in the area.
