Congress MLA from Rae Bareli, Aditi Singh, on Sunday vehemently denied rumours about wedding bells with AICC president Rahul Gandhi.
Ahead of Karnataka Assembly polls, a few pictures of Congress MLA Aditi Singh with Rahul Gandhi were doing rounds in the social media claiming that their marriage will be solemnised soon. The viral posts went to the extent of claiming that Rahul's mother Sonia Gandhi has approved the marriage between the two.
"Such rumours upset me. I would like to clarify that Rahulji is my 'rakhi brother' and I am really saddened by such rumours on social media," Aditi clarified.
The pictures of Aditi Singh were taken during UPA Chairman Sonia Gandhi's recent visit to her parliamentary constituency, Rae Bareli. When Aditi went to meet Sonia Gandhi with other senior Congress leaders at the Guest House, Rahul Gandhi was also there.
The pictures of Aditi Singh with Sonia and Rahul were clicked by someone and later put on the WhatsApp groups in Rae Bareli. Later, these pictures started circulating on the social media with all sorts of notes and announcements that Rahul is finally tying nuptial knots with Congress MLA from Rae Bareli.
At least four pictures showing Sonia with Aditi Singh and others and Rahul with Aditi were widely circulated on social media to announce that wedding bells will ring for Rahul soon after Karnataka polls as search for wife for the Gandhi scion ends.
Despite saffron wave, Aditi had won with a margin of over 90,000 votes from Rae Bareli Sadar assembly constituency, represented five times by her mafia don-turn-politician father Akholesh Singhj. Aditi holds an MBA degree from a US university.

- A picture that shows Aditi Singh draped in green saree standing with Sonia Gandhi was circulated the most with a message that Sonia's search for a daughter-in-law finally ends at Rae Bareli.
- However, the fact was that the Congress MLA Aditi Singh went to meet Sonia and Rahul on a courtesy call at the Guest House and all the leaders shown in the picture were local Congress men.
