The Jammu and Kashmir government is scrambling to review cases of hardened terrorists and shift them to other jails, after terrorists helped LeT commander Naveed Jatt flee from a Srinagar hospital on Tuesday.

The Centre asked the J&K government on Friday to fully review security measures in jails and transportation of inmates. The MHA asked the state government to ensure that no such incident takes place in future.

Seven terrorists are already being relocated. To ensure full vigilance over terrorist prisoners, the state government will involve CRPF, MHA sources said.

An inquiry by Srinagar's Divisional Commissioner has been ordered to fix responsibility and examine why terrorists were taken to the OPD rather than doctors. A report will be submitted in 15 days. MHA sources said the J&K government has been advised to look into gaps in jail administration and review security. The DG Prisons in J&K has been transferred and the Jail Superintendent suspended and replaced.

On Thursday, the police arrested four terrorists and over-ground workers (OGWs) who helped Jatt flee in a shootout in which of two constables were killed.

Several smart phones were seized from the Central Jail after investigations revealed that Jatt alias Abu Hanzulla was in touch with terrorists over phone from the high-security prison.

Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir, Munir Ahmad Khan said authorities smashed the network and arrested two terrorists Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and Tika Khan and two OGWs Syed Tajamul and Mohammad Shafi Wani, all residents of Kakpora in South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

"After their arrest, we are left with Naveed, who is still at large, and another militant Hilal. Presently we are looking for them and will hopefully lay our hands on them," said Khan.
