Pakistani troops on Sunday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kamalkote area of Uri sector in Baramulla district for the second consecutive day, an Army official said.

No casualties have been reported in today's firing so far, the official said.

There was unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the LoC in Kamalkote area and they fired indiscriminately for the second day running, he said.

"Ceasefire violations by Paksitan Army in Uri sector from 10.50 am on Sunday. Our forces are retaliating strongly," said Colonel Kalia.

Meanwhile, a militant was killed in an encounter with security forces at Ananwan village in Langate area of Kupwara district. "Contact was established at 5 am. One terrorist was killed and a weapon was recovered. The operation continues," said Colonel Rajesh Kalia, defence spokesman in Srinagar.
