BSP leader's sister shot dead by husband; arrested

A 30-year-old woman and sister of a BSP leader was shot dead on Friday allegedly by her husband over domestic dispute, police said.

According to the FIR, the woman was shot dead by her husband, Tejpal, over family dispute at her residence here under Charthawal police station. Balesh was murdered after she allegedly opposed to an illicit relationship of his husband with another woman who had been living in the same house, Police said.

As per the FIR lodged by the victim's brother and BSP leader Ramniwas, the couple did not have any child and Tejpal started developing illicit affair with another woman. BSP leader Ramniwas is a coordinator of Saharanpur division for the party.

Meanwhile, several BSP leaders reached the police station and demanded strict action, police said adding that husband Tejpal was arrested and the investigation is on in the matter.
