After two cases of rape and murder in Etah district, decomposed body of a six-year-old Dalit minor girl child, missing from home for the past one week, was recovered from a field of Kalinagar area in Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh.

The victim’s father, who identified the body through clothes she was wearing, has alleged gang rape and murder. The SP Pilibhit  Kalanidhi Naithani said that the samples of the hair and skeleton were sent for the DNA test and the body for the post mortem.

“We are awaiting the DNA and the postmortem reports. We would be able to tell confirm the identity of the missing girl child and rape charges once we receive both reports,” said the SP.

A resident of Kalinagar in Madhotanda in Pilbhit, the six-year-old Dalit girl was missing since April 12 night when she had gone to her grandfather’s residence for some work. When family members failed to find her, they lodged a report at Madhotanda Police Station the next day.

Her decomposed body was recovered from a field, nearly 100 metres away from her home. The police sent the skull, skeleton, hairs and cloths for the DNA test and postmortem. Blood stains were also recovered from the spot. The police is suspecting handiwork of some ‘tantrik’ or the girl child may have been mauled by a leopard as the area is infested by the wild cats.

“A case has been registered against unidentified miscreants. A police team is investigating the case on the basis of the identification and statement of victim’s family members. However, we will take a final call only after DNA and autopsy report are received,” said the SP Pilibhit.
