Claiming that Left Front didn’t provide many basic facilities, he said BJP will develop the state
BJP president Amit Shah on Monday sounded confident of forming the next state government in Tripura.
“Seeing the atmosphere and campaigns after visiting various constituencies, I can rest assured that the BJP would form the next government in Tripura and it would be the 20th BJP-ruled state,” Shah said. He assured the voters that the promises made in the party’s election manifesto released yesterday would be implemented.
Citing the examples of Assam and Manipur, where the saffron outfit had managed to install its governments. “The party neither had MLAs in Manipur and Assam, nor a strong organisational base, yet the huge popularity of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s programmes catapulted the party to power there,” he said. Tripura would also come under the BJP fold, he added.
“The Left Front has been ruling the state for long, yet the residents are deprived of several basic amenities. They got enough time to develop the state, but Tripura remained backward. There are many BJP-ruled states which have seen much more development in way lesser time,” he said, adding, “Development would come only when BJP forms the next government.”
He alleged that during the left rule, crimes against women has been the highest in the country, with rape and molestation being rife. “CPI(M) cadres dictate terms to the police and government officials, which is why law and order has collapsed.”
Criticising the opposition Congress, Shah said that the party was trying to divide the anti-Left votes in the state for favouring CPI-M, but that would not work.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely released the party manifesto on Sunday, promising to set up special economic zones and giving smartphones to the youth.
