Union Minister for Commerce and Industries Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists would reach every nook and corner of the country to create awareness among farmers on the Land Acquisition Bill.

Speaking with media persons on the deliberations during BJP National Executive Committee meet in Bengaluru, Nirmala Sitharaman said that Opposition parties are creating confusion among farmers by spreading rumours on the Land Acquisition Bill. "If the propaganda of Opposition parties is anything to by, it seems the Opposition parties are opposing the Land Acquisition Bill just for the sake of opposing,'' Nirmala Sitharaman said.

She said that BJP-led Government has been ready to clear all doubts of the Opposition parties. "We want to discuss with them and clear their doubts and answer every query on the Land Acquisition Bill,'' she said.

When asked whether Narendra Modi-led government is ready to ensure passage of the Land Acquisition Bill in Rajya Sabha where BJP has no majority, she said: "We have made nine amendments to the Land Acquisition Bill. There will be no problem for smooth passage of the Bill in Rajya Sabha. I don't think any one will oppose it in Rajya Sabha''.

Stating that political situation at various states was discussed during the ongoing executive committee meet, she said a power-point presentation was made during the meet explaining the circumstances to enter into an alliance with the PDP and common minimum programme. "All the members welcomed it with a resounding applause,'' she said.

Whether the BJP meet discussed political situation in Delhi state, she said the issue was not discussed during the meet.
