Kim Kardashian West

Back in 2010, Kim got into a partnership with Famous Cupcakes to release her vanilla cupcake mix. For $13, fans of the reality TV star got a mix for 18 cupcakes, cupcake liners, and pink sprinkles. But the mix failed to draw in the dough. Leaving no visible traces of it, so much so, if you look for it on the Famous Cupcakes’ website, you get a 404 error.

Heidi Klum

The German model loves her fruit gummies, and decided to share her passion with her fans for a fee. Heidi Klum got into the gummy making business in 2006, launching her brand — Fruit Flirtations in 2006. However, she made the mistake of marketing these sugary treats as fat-free health food. Health experts slammed her claims since they were loaded with sugar, leading to their discontinuation.

Ashton Kutcher

Ashton along with Wilmer Valderrama  decided to venture in another field. The stars of That ’70s Show opened their “intimate Italian eatery” Dolce Enoteca e Ristorante in Atlanta in 2007 to generally positive reviews. While it was a good place to spot celebrities, it needed more to go on. Their food dream eventually fizzled out before shutting down in 2012.

Jennifer Lopez

The actor and singer opened Madre’s in Los Angeles in 2002. Initial curiosity did bring in the crowds for a bit, but food critics were not impressed. It managed to stay afloat for six years before shutting down in July 2008.

Eva Longoria

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria ventured into the restaurant business with an upscale eatery SHe in Las Vegas that was female centric, serving smaller steaks and with mirrors on the dessert menu so guests could touch up their lipstick. The restaurant however was shut down by the health department in April 2014. And one month later closed doors for good.

Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer, Elle MacPhearson, and Naomi Campbell

Back in the ‘90s — four of the hottest models — Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer, Elle MacPhearson, and Naomi Campbell decided to open Fashion Cafe in 1995. However, the themed eatery failed to draw in the crowds and it closed after a few years.

Steven Seagal

Action star Steven Seagal tried his hand at another venture called Lightning Bolt, which was a 100 per cent juice-based energy drink which failed to work. As a result, it’s no longer available.

Steven Spielberg

Dive was Steven Spielberg’s nautical-themed restaurant that opened to public in 1994 in Beverly Hills. However, despite the hype, it failed to stay afloat and went under in 1999.

Britney Spears

In March 2002, pop star Britney Spears opened Nyla, a chic Cajun-inspired restaurant in midtown Manhattan. However with increasing debts, Spears ditched the venture in eight months, it then turned into an Italian restaurant and shortly closed soon after.

Justin Timberlake

Pop star Justin Timberlake’s first venture in the food business in 2006 as co-owner of Manhattan restaurant, Destino did not go as planned. The Italian restaurant was a favourite with celebs but had flooding problems which eventually led to it downing shutters in 2013. However, Timberlake reportedly cut ties with the venture in 2007. And while the first may have not set the cash registers ringing, his next Southern Hospitality in New York seems to be working for him
