Why were no celebs present at Dinesh Kathik-Dipika Pallikal wedding?

The wedding of 30-year-old Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik with squash champ 23-year-old Dipika Pallikal in Chennai was a highly-anticipated one. The couple is to have two weddings. The one in the Malayali Christian tradition took place on Tuesday, and one in the Telugu Naidu Hindu tradition will take place on Thursday. 

On Tuesday, the Christian wedding was held at The Leela Palace hotel in Chennai. Surprisingly, no celebs or Team India cricketers were seen at the wedding!

According to sources, the wedding saw only the couple's families and Dipika's college friends and close friends attend the wedding. Despite the fact that the couple has friends in the film and cricketing fraternity, many who attended the wedding were apparently wondering why no one had been invited. Some speculate that it's because Dinesh Karthik's ex-wife is now married to cricketer Murali Vijay that certain people have been left off the wedding invite list.  

There is speculation as to whether the wedding in the Hindu tradition will be a grander celebration than the Christian wedding. 

No media was not allowed to enter the wedding venue at The Leela Hotel to take pictures of the happy couple and celebrations. Instead, publications were mailed pictures by the families post the wedding.

Some guests who attended the wedding said the bride Dipika Pallikal looked gorgeous on the occasion. The couple got to know each other through their trainer Basu Shankar. They got engaged in November 2013.
