The full-fledged trailer of Marvel's Luke Cage is finally here, just like the superhero himself after much reluctance.

Marvel and Netflix gave a taste of what's coming the viewer's way at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con. But the complete trailer gives us the origin story of the superhero who has super strength and impenetrable skin. Mike Colter plays the titular role.

Luke Cage is a result of an experiment gone wrong, (cough... Wolverine cough... cough Deadpool... cough). He prefers to keep his head down but something happens which forces him to fight a battle for the heart of New York City neighbourhood, Harlem. He cannot bury his past anymore.

We also get the glimpse of his nemesis Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes, played by Mahershala Ali earlier seen in another Netflix original House of Cards.

The tone of the show is in congruence with the dark shades of Jessica Jones, in which the character was first introduced, and Daredevil. But it makes the departure from the sneaky, more psychedelic tone of Jessica Jones. There is a lot of violence, but minimum bloodshed, because impenetrable skin!

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans can let out a whoop as the trailer starts with Luke Cage saving Claire Temple. For those who are just catching up with the intricacies of MCU, Claire Temple played by Rosario Dawson, is also part of Daredevil and she is the connecting factor of two superhero shows leading us all to Netflix miniseries The Defenders. The second line of superheroes after the mighty Avengers.

Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, and Frank Whaley will also feature in pivotal roles. Netflix will make the series available for streaming on September 30.
