The wait is finally over. Akshay Kumar has finally unveiled the trailer of his next film - Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
The superstar along with his co-star Bhumi Pednekar tweeted the YouTube link on their social media handles. Toilet-Ek Prem Katha is a social satire that revolves around an issue that has been plaguing a section of the country, especially in the rural areas and small towns. That of open defecation due to lack of proper sanitation.
The filmmaker deserves due credit for mixing such a strong theme and overlapping it with some brilliant lines and dialogues. The underlying humour that brings out the ethos and pangs of the couple is noteworthy. So here's Akshay - the small town guy who prefers being called 'badtameez' to 'bhaisahab' and is desperate to get married. He finally weds the love of his love but a rift between the couple ensues once the wife realises that there's no toilet in the house.
How Akshay's character fights to get proper sanitation to his village is what forms the rest of the story. Technically speaking, Toiler Ek Prem Katha's trailer is brilliant. It has all the key ingredients that you need for a perfect Hindi film. And when we say Hindi film, we mean the commercial films that also have a lot of substance.
For example, the team has made sure that although they are propagating an important message through this film, it doesn't come across as preachy. The humour and the funny one-liners act as catalysts to get everything in place. The film has romance and all the bhashanbaazi, which are essential elements for drawing the audience to the theatres. Toilet looks like a film that will cater to both the single screen and the multiplex audiences and there, you have a winner already.
