'Star Trek 3' scheduled to hit theatres in July 2016

Star Trek 3 has got its scheduled date and will beam into theatres on July 8, 2016.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures, Bad Robot and Skydance Productions project will be managed by Fast and Furious franchise director Justin Lin, who took over after Roberto Orci walked out in early December.

2013's Star Trek: Into Darkness had grossed $467.4 million worldwide, while the first film in the rebooted Star Trek franchise had earned $385.7 million in 2009.
