Shahid Kapoor's performance in 'Rangoon' gets Pankaj Kapur emotional!

He received accolades for his performance in his last outing, Udta Punjab (2016), and now Shahid Kapoor is eagerly awaiting for the audience's reaction to his upcoming next, Rangoon. The film’s release date is almost three weeks away but Sasha’s dad, Pankaj Kapur, has already seen the movie. 

A source informs, “Pankaj Kapur watched the film last week. He is among the first ones to have seen it. Of course, he loved the film, but what made him emotional is Shahid’s performance.” 

Also, allegedly, after watching the film, Kapur told his son that he has done such a good job in Rangoon that he “totally forgot he was Shahid”. “Pankaj Kapur further added that Shahid came across as a completely different person,” adds the source.

Veteran actor, Pankaj Kapur is “very critical” of every performance he watches. “It’s difficult for any actor to impress him, as he has a very keen eye for the craft and its nuances, and that includes Shahid,” the source chimes in. Apparently, Pankaj also gave “his inputs and feedback” on the film to the film's director, Vishal Bhardwaj with whom he has had a “family-like” equation.
