Prasoon Joshi — who has written lyrics for films like Hum Tum, Rang De Basanti, Fanaa, Taare Zameen Par, Delhi 6, Black, Chittagong, among several others — is all set to release his new book at the Jaipur Lit Festival today. Titled Sunshine Lanes, the book is a compilation of around 60 of Prasoon’s film and music album song lyrics, that he has written over the last 10 years.
An insider shares that apart from the lyrics, there will be a one-page writer’s note accompanying each song. “Prasoon has penned down the thought process behind the lyrics, an anecdote or shared a perspective on each of the songs,” says the source.
“Prasoon is one of the few writers, who combines Hindi with contemporary thought. As a result, his poetry and songs have a mass connect as well as are respected by connoisseurs,” says an industry observer.
