'Pashmina' from Fitoor: Why the Katrina Kaif-Aditya Roy Kapur song is the love anthem of 2016!

Fitoor trailer released about a week back and ever since then, the anticipation and the buzz around the romantic film has been really high. And the first song kind of hammered the fact that Abhishek Kapoor has taken special care of the film's music. And the keenness in that department has bore fruit. After the title track, the makers unveiled the second song from the film, titled Pashmina and it's simply beautiful. 

Amit Trivedi who's composed as well as sung the song deserves the biggest round of applause for creating something so pure and breathtakingly soothing to the ears. While the little portion of the song from the trailer in itself made an impact, the full song is finally out and it's brilliant. Adding the much needed dash of magic to the melodious track is Katrina Kaif's astounding performance on the same. 

Katrina blends magic to the lyrics with her standalone elegant ballet act. Performing contemporary isn't something we've seen many actors do effortlessly on screen, but Katrina who usually gets the audience jiving to her latkas and thumkas nails the act like a professional. She does make the song look more magical but the cherry on the cake definitely is Katrina's crackling chemistry with co-star Aditya Roy Kapur. Despite the fact that they are a relatively fresh couple on celluloid, Gattu extracts the raw and untapped zing from his lead pair. And that's where he hits a home run.

While it was Main Hoon Hero Tera and Gerua ruling the charts last year, Pashmina truly has all the qualities to be one of the most prominent love anthems of the year. Deservingly so.
