The India-Pakistan relationship has been scarred post the Uri attack. So much that political wing MNS along with IMPPA called for a ban on Pakistani actors in India. MNS even asked the producers of films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees to release the film without the portions of the Pakistani actors.
ADHM has Fawad Khan and Imran Abbas whereas Mahira Khan is the central lead in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees. Protesting against the release of these two films would result in losses for the Indian makers, without having a zilch effect on the Pak actors. When this point was brought to the fore, IMPPA decided to talk to MNS and bring out a solution to the problem.
Filmmaker and social activist Ashoke Pandit took to Twitter and revealed that IMPPA has requested MNS' Amey Khopkar and Shalini Thackeray to allow the release of Bollywood movies like ADHM and Raees which star Pak actors but has already been completed.
"#IMPPA meets @ThakareShalini #AmeyKoppikar of MNS & made a representation to not disturb the release of completed films with #PakActors. #IMPPA also seeks appointment with @uddhavthackeray JI to make a request to allow the release of completed films with #PakistaniArtists. #IMPPA very strongly feels the makers & investors of films are #Indians and hence should not be at loss.#Pakis hv made money & gone," posted Pandit.
