Arjun Kapoor has consciously made sure he doesn't ape any of his predecessor's style!
Khatron Ke Khiladi is back with its seventh season and a new host. In the form of Arjun Kapoor. Yes, after Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Rohit Shetty, this time the reins of the show are in Arjun's hands. And while there was a section of the audience who scoffed at the idea of him being able to host the show properly, the first episode has hammered one thing for sure. Arjun is here to stay and how!
We've watched the first episode and we have to admit that Arjun has done a fairly decent job. Not much to our surprise because we were expecting something like this from him. But what surprised us was the way the Gen-Y actor has tried making this his own show, by bringing in his trademark elements that only add to the fun and quirk on KKK 7.
Here are three major reasons why Arjun fits the bill as the new KKK 7 host!
He's daredevil!
Arjun's got a jigda that not many can boast of. He is bold, unabashed, fearless and fierece. Be it in his attitude or emotions, the actor has always shown a very strong-willed side of his to the audience. And unlike the others, one thing that Arjun made sure was he's tried most of the stunts on his own on the show. Previously, Rohit Shetty would jump in and perform one or two stunts in between alternate episodes but here, we have Arjun taking the lead and defying everyone's pre-conceived notions about him (they even had a spoof on the same where the channel got his contemporary actors to talk about Arjun-the host and we simply loved it!), he can be seen enacting the daredevil stunts willingly.
Represents youth, more comfortable for contestants!
He's young and that's his biggest advantage. While Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar have a set audience of their own which might be bigger than Arjun's reach, we are sure of one thing. with Arjun coming on board, the contestants will be freely conversing him and there won't be an age barrier working, which is great for the show's TRPs. More fun, more masti, more tamasha- Arjun's gunda avatar is surely working in the show's favour for sure. Also given his audience reach, especially among the youth, he is one of the best choices as well!
He's doing it differently!
Arjun had clearly told us before flying off to Argentina. "This is my debut on TV. It feels like I am starting my career all over again. I am sure comparisons will happen but I am not competing with anyone's style. Akshay sir and Rohit sir's style of hosting the show is different. I will definitely bring in myself on the show and it will be trademark shift." He promised and he delivered. After watching the first episode, we can surely say that he's not aped or imitated anyone else's style, even for a second. Good, bad or ugly- no matter what you may feel about his TV stint, it's all Arjun and no one else.
Looking forward to the coming episodes for sure. But I hope he maintains this momentum throughout. Or maybe, he might just give us a sweet surprise and do even better in the days to come...
