Actress Renee Zellweger says she missed working with Hugh Grant on the latest instalment of the Bridget Jones franchise, as he did not reprise his role as Daniel Cleaver.

The 47-year-old actress has reprised her role as the titular character in the third movie, but one character who didn't make an appearance was Bridget's former lover Daniel Cleaver, who was played by Grant, and Zellweger has admitted she missed filming with her friend, reported Daily Mirror.

"Of course (I missed him). He's informed so much of Bridget's journey and the choices she's making in this latest incarnation, so I felt like he was part of it in some way. And, very selfishly, I missed him because he's my pal and I love working with him. He's a lot of fun."
