Hansal Mehta to make a biopic on India's 'Iron Lady' Irom Sharmila!

Manipur’s Iron Lady Irom Chanu Sharmila, who was demanding repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act in the state, ended her 16-year-old hunger strike yesterday. The activist was being force-fed through a nasal tube to keep her alive at a prison-turned-hospital in Imphala. 

As per reports, filmmaker Hansal Mehta who has made two biopics Shahid and Aligarh was closely following the Iron Lady’s struggle over the years and finds her never-say-die spirit remarkable. 

The filmmaker, who is currently prepping to direct another biopic Simran will be producing the film on Iron Lady. The script is almost ready and he is scouting for a director.
