Bejoy Nambiar to remake Mani Ratnam's 'Agni Nachathiram' in Hindi

Wazir director Bejoy Nambiar is busy working on a script now. And it is the remake of the hit Mani Ratnam film Agni Nachathiram which released in 1988. This Tamil action-drama flick saw Prabhu and Karthik star in the lead roles and the film ran for over 200 days in theatres.

Nambiar has bought the Hindi remake rights from director Mani Ratnam and sources confirm that he is currently working on the script. The cast has not yet been finalised and will be decided once he completes the script.

Mani Ratnam is the master of relationships on-screen and his Agni Nachathiram shows the story of two brothers, one who is legitimate and the other who is not. How their relationship transforms with time has been brought out powerfully by the ace director.

Bejoy Nambiar worked as Mani Ratnam's AD before he went on to make films in Bollywood on his own. He is rewriting the Tamil version in Hindi for the audience of today and it remains to be seen how well he pulls it off.The casting for the film is also important as the roles are performance -oriented as well.

Agni Nachathiram till today remains a landmark film in Mani Ratnam's career.
