As the Oscar fever takes over, we asked B-Town directors to share their favourites for Best Picture, Actor in a leading role and Actress in a leading role. Read on to find out who is rooting for whom.

Puneet Malhotra
I want American Sniper to win the Oscar for the Best Picture. Simply because I am a big Clint Eastwood fan, but I am sure they are going to give it to Birdman or Boyhood. I also loved The Grand Budapest Hotel... It's Wes Anderson all the way! My pick for Actor in a leading role is Eddie Redmayne. He was outstanding in the film. I still can't believe how young he is and how he played a character that spanned through so many years. My choice for Actress in a leading role would be Julianne Moore as personally I think there is no one close to her.

Milan Luthria
My pick for Best Picture is St Vincent for the subtle see-saw ride it provides the viewer. Light yet so deep. My choice for Actress in a leading role is Julianne Moore in Still Alice for the grace and dignity with which she has played a part that shreds these very values in character. I want Bill Murray to walk away with the Oscar for Actor in a leading role for caring a damn yet making you care.

Sajid Khan
I think the Oscar for Best Picture will go to Clint Eastwood because it is highly patriotic and has managed to become a commercial success raking in around $257,100,822 at the box-office worldwide. Also, Eastwood commands a lot of respect not only within the Academy but also among audiences. My pick for Actor in a leading role is Michael Keaton for his role in Birdman because I feel this is his best performance till date, and he has never got an Academy award prior to this. My choice for Actress in a leading role is Felicity Jones for her part in The Theory of Everything. When you see the film, you forget who she is and believe 100 per cent she is the character. She played the role of a regular housewife and was superb in it.

Ali Abbas
My pick for Best Picture is Theory of Everything because it's such an uplifting story told simply. I would pick either Eddie Redmayne or Bradley Cooper for the Actor in a leading role. While Felicity Jones gets my vote in the category of Actress in a leading role.

Goldie Behl
My vote for Best Picture goes to Whiplash as it's my favourite in the running for the Oscars along with American Sniper and Birdman. The strength of Whiplash lies in its simplicity an absolutely riveting coming of age tale of the mentor and prodigy with one of the best final scenes. The film has an incredible ending. For actor in a leading role I would pick Michael Keaton for his fantastic performance.

Siddharth Malhotra
My pick for Best Picture is Birdman. It not only introduces a one-of-a-kind filmography technique but also has a great cast and a fantastic script. Birdman is a film about making films, the role of critics, life after the big role and simply the big picture. A solid story cannot stand on its own though, which is why the excellent cast of Birdman is so vital to its Best Picture run. As great as all of the actors were in their previous works, the daring roles that they took for Birdman were far out of their comfort zone, and they all were magnificent. It's an experience that leaves you spellbound. My pick for Actor in a leading role is Eddie Redmayne. To play the role of a man with neuron motors disease with so many shades and not going overboard anywhere, he deserves the award...from being confident and corky to falling in love to dealing with a personal tragedy to accepting himself as a man with dignity as every part of his body leaves him to the grit and determination of not letting the audience at any point not love him and smile with him inspite of his trauma and emerge victorious - all these shades and emotions if a viewer goes through as he takes you through it he deserves the Oscar. My pick for Actress in a leading role is Rosemund Pike. It takes a perfect sense of the right tone to play a character who is vulnerable, loveable, mean, evil and still so calm and focused that it gives you the creeps with just the thought of having a wife that loves you so much... and through her performance takes you through it all leaving a strong impact for days post viewing the film.
