So just like everyone else on Twitter, Sonam Kapoor also had something so say about it. She tweeted: “Our country is going to remain a 3rd world nation because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few.” Now while there’s nothing wrong with fighting, misogyny, Miss Kapoor equating the meat ban with misogyny drew her some flak.

We live in times when a celebrity, particularly a woman can’t speak her mind without being attacked. Unless you have been living under a rock, you must have heard about the meat ban in Mumbai (for four days) and Mira-Bhayander (for eight days), to appease the Jains during their fasting period.
So just like everyone else on Twitter, Sonam Kapoor also had something so say about it. She tweeted: “Our country is going to remain a 3rd world nation because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few.” Miss Kapoor equating the meat ban with misogyny drew her some flak, and some of the comments were downright misogynistic. Earlier, Neha Dhupia had faced sexist comments for criticising the BJP government.
Not one to take such abuse lying down, Sonam Kapoor took on her trolls head on, bashing them left-right or centre. While equating misogyny with food choices isn’t right, neither is misogynistic name-calling. Here's the exchange:
Our country is going to remain a 3rd world nation because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few. https://t.co/JcIDEC3gQE

Before being judgmental assholes. What I said was a critique of the general mentality .. Which is not exclusive to the banning of meat.

And the saddest thing about this whole thing is.. That it's mostly women who are calling me out on being bimbo. Guess it's not only the men!
