Kerala State Film Awards: Actor Jayasurya disappointed he lost out to Dulquer Salmaan

 The Kerala State Film Awards were announced on Tuesday and there were many surprises in store. Young actor Dulquer Salmaan beat vterans - including his father Mammootty - to walk away with the Best Actor Award. While the actor himself was surprised but happy at the win, movie fans on social media were not kind. Many fans felt others deserved it more.

Actor Jayasurya lost out to Dulquer Salmaan and bagged the special jury award. He stated that he had been hopeful of winning the Best Actor award this time. But he said he was happy with the special jury award, reports Malayalam Manorama.

As for Dulquer Salmaan winning the Best Actor award, the actor told the daily, "Dulquer could impress everyone in the jury." He added that he was happy for the young actor. 

Jayasurya won the special jury award for his performances in Lukka Chuppy and Su su Sudhi Valmeekam. The actor has bagged other awards as Best Actor but the Kerala State Film Award has been elusive to him.
