This summer, students will get a great offer of an internship at the Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha Secretariat is offering internships to 100 students and the good part about this internship is that you earn while you learn. The Secretariat has offered paid internship and has invited applications for the same.

The internship programme has been launched under Speakers's Research Initiative. The interns will be selected by Lok Sabha Secretariat and deployed in various divisions.

The applications need to be filled in two formats i.e. 50 positions for an internship for three months and 50 applications for an internship of a period of a month.

An official notification suggests that the aim to offer these internships is to “provide an opportunity to young talent in the country with outstanding academic credentials for acquainting themselves with the working of parliamentary democracy through Parliamentary Internship and to train them to contribute towards generation of research inputs for reference/use of Hon’ble Members of Parliament.”

It further suggests that the selected interns would be exposed “to the Constitutional and legal provisions with respect to the working of Parliament”. The interns would also be contributing to the research inputs.
