A 24-year-old man was killed by three persons in South-West Delhi's Vasant Kunj area after he objected to them littering a pond outside his residence on Thursday afternoon. The police have arrested two of the accused, however, the third one is currently on the run.

According to the police, the matter came to light on Thursday around 3 pm when they were informed about a man lying in a pool of blood outside his house. The victim identified as Danish was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Milind Mahadeo Dumbre, DCP, South-West said that a case of murder has been registered and teams have been formed to nab the third accused. "The two arrested have been identified as Waseem and Shahrukh. Danish worked as a tailor in the area," said Dumbre.

The incident occurred around 2:30 pm when Danish noticed three men unloading bags full of garbage in a dry pond barely 10 steps away from his house. He walked up to them and asked them to be responsible citizens and not litter the pond. He also pointed towards a trash can where they could have emptied the garbage.

One of the accused then slapped him and pushed him after which he tried to push them and save himself. This agitated them and the men took out a knife and stabbed him twice -- once on the stomach and the other in his chest. He fell unconscious on the ground after which a neighbour who spotted him called up the police. Despite several people witnessing the incident, none stepped in to save him. It was only later that the locals caught hold of the accused but one of them still managed to escape.
