It was Alok Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, who was heading the investigation and the surveillance in the kidnapping case of the 5-year-old Vivan. He was also supervising the rescue operations of the child on Monday night.

Kumar was heading a team of more than 30 policemen from the Crime Branch and Shahadra district who were reporting to him about all the minute developments regarding the case.

While addressing the media over the dramatic rescue of the child, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, RP Upadhyaya appreciated Kumar's stringent and uninterrupted week-long efforts for the speedy and successful rescue of the kid.
