A Noida Authority project engineer was suspended from his post on Saturday, a day after an Income-Tax raid at his residence.

The I-T Department on Friday raided a bungalow belonging to a Noida Authority's project engineer, Brijpal Singh, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

The team of Income Tax officers recovered luxury cars, an unspecified amount of cash, jewellery and documents showing numerous bank accounts and lockers from Singh's house.

The raid at Singh's Sector 27 bungalow in Noida brought to light a list of luxury vehicles with special number plates, including Mercedes Benz and Toyota Fortuner SUV and a number of real estate assets worth crores.

The list of properties, registered under Singh's and his immediate family members' names, includes a banquet hall in Sector 10, a three-storey bungalow in Sector 33, a farmhouse in Modi Nagar, a public school in Pilkhuwa, and several plots in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr.

The I-T sleuths also found gold worth crores in Singh's residence. The agency alleged that Singh is guilty of recruiting his relatives in various projects of Noida Authority.

Reportedly, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has personally taken stock of the disproportionate assets discovered.
