The Delhi Police rescued a 22-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted six years ago by a 23-year-old man. The girl, who was minor six years ago, had later married the accused and the duo was working as daily wage labourer to survive and educate their two children.

In a complaint registered with the North Dwarka police station, the father of the girl had accused Faujdar of allegedly abducting his minor daughter who was 16 years old six years ago. The police had registered a case of kidnapping and have been searching for the accused for over six years now. However, after six years of investigation when the Delhi police arrested the accused and rescued the girl, they were in for a shock as the girl who was abducted at the age of 16 had married the accused and is also the mother of his two children, now. The duo had been changing their locations in Uttar Pradesh but for the past two years they were settled in the Beharich area and used to work as daily wage labourers for their livelihoods.

"For over six years the accused had been changing his locations and during this course, he had also married the minor girl and now the duo have two children from the marriage." said Shibesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka.
