Gang of robbers busted, two arrested by Delhi Police from Punjabi Bagh

The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police busted a gang of abductors and robbers and arrested two members of the gang from the Peeragarhi area. The 'Pappi Gang' used to rob the valuables of the targeted vehicle on the gunpoint.

According to the police, they got an information regarding the 'Pappi Gang' being active in the North, Central, West, North-West, Rohini and Outer District. The intensive hard work and round-the-clock shadowing of the team yielded results. The police managed to crackdown the location of one of the members of the gang. The accused, Kaushal Kumar, had come near the Punjabi Bagh area to commit a crime but the police laid a trap and were successful in apprehending him. A sophisticated pistol loaded with five cartridges was recovered from the possession of the accused.

On interrogation, another member of the gang, identified as Alam Ali was arrested and from his possession, one sophisticated pistol loaded with five cartridges, two pieces of long sharp iron spikes and a stolen scooty bearing a fake number plate were recovered. During interrogation, it was revealed that Kumar was an earlier booked under the Maharashtra Control Of Organised Crime Act in 2011. One year ago, he ganged up with Bablu, a resident of Sultanpuri, and purchased four sophisticated pistols for looting people on gunpoint. Ali joined the gang a year ago and is a school dropout.

"The gang was involved in 25 cases of armed robbery. The investigation is still going on and efforts are being made to arrest other members of the gang," said Alok Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch).
