A major fire broke out at a plastic godown in outer Delhi's Tikri village on Sunday. Prima facie, it appeared that sparks from high-tension wires passing above the godown might have triggered the blaze. No casualties have been reported, so far.

According to the police, a call regarding the fire was received at 8.20am. The plastic godown is spread over around 2,500 square yards. All workers were rescued by the firemen and police officers. As many as 25 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and it took nearly four hours to douse the flame.

The godown is used to store plastic and plastic waste for the purpose of recycling. Workers at the factory revealed that they saw some sparks and soon, the entire area was engulfed in a thick layer of smoke.
