City MLAs to get crash course on GST's impact on Capital

The Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi will organise an orientation programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST) on Monday.

This is to ensure that MLAs are better equipped and prepared to discuss the GST bill when it is taken up for consideration on May 31 in the Delhi Assembly.

Dr Arvind Subramanian, Indian economist and chief economic adviser, Government of India will address the law makers on the subject of GST during the programme.

Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, SN Sahai, Principal Secretary (Finance), GNCTD (Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi) will also speak on GST and the possible impact it will have on the national Capital.

A panel of officers from GNCTD will also give a presentation on GST which will then be followed by a question and answer session from the law makers.

The entire session will be presided over by the Delhi Speaker Ram Niwas Goel.
