Bikers shoot biz man dead

A businessman was shot dead by two unidentified miscreants on a bike on Monday when he resisted their attempt to rob him in Bhojpur village, located in Ghaziabad.

The victim has been identified as Brijesh Kumar, 25, a businessman from Ghaziabad.

Police stated that the incident took place around 2 pm when Kumar along his wife went from their home in Modi Nagar to Bhojpur village on a bike. They were going to attend a family function.

"We were going to the village to attend our relative's function and had a bag of cash with us. When we got near Bhojpur village, two unidentified men on a bike started following us and were continuously driving side by side with us," said Kumar's wife who refused to give her name.

"After some time, they stopped us in a deserted area and tried to snatch the cash. After an altercation, they fired a bullet at my husband and fled from the spot," she added.

A PCR call was made and the police reached the spot. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

"The miscreants had their face covered so their faces could not be seen. We have registered a case of murder against two unknown people. Kumar had lost a lot of blood due to which he succumbed to his injuries," said RK Rathi, SHO, Bhojpur.
