A delegation the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by state President Manoj Tiwari, met the Chief Election Commissioner on Tuesday and submitted a complaint, demanding a thorough inquiry into the accounts of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in view of allegations of irregularities in getting donations.

In his complaint, Tiwari, the Bhojpuri actor-turned-politician alleged that Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has removed its donation information from the party website. He also raised the issue of AAP putting up different donation figures on the party website and submitting different donation figures before the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Income Tax authorities, during the financial years 2014-15 and 2013-14.
Tiwari requested the EC to order a thorough inquiry into the matter, as prima facie it appeared to be a case of violation of the Representation of People Act, 1951, and the Election Symbol (Allotment & Reservation) Order, 1968.Last week, the Union Home Ministry had directed AAP to submit all details of the foreign donations it has received, so far, by May 16. In a notice to the AAP's Chief Functionary, the ministry has now asked for details of shareholding pattern of the corporation or company or the source from where the AAP has received these donations.
The letter stated that the requisite information has to be provided in year-wise tabulated form. It said the party should specify the changes in the shareholding pattern.
