A 32-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint hardly 5 km from the Delhi Police Head Quarters in east Delhi's Shakarpur area on Sunday evening.
According to the police, the incident took place around 7 pm.
"The woman was headed to Noida when three unidentified bike-borne miscreants stopped her auto near the Shakarpur area. The accused had guns. One of them held the auto driver at gunpoint while the other two looted the woman," a senior officer said.
When the woman resisted, one of the accused fired a shot in the air to intimidate her.
"They took her bag and all the jewellery she was wearing. Then they fled from the spot," the officer added.
The miscreants also pulled off her bangles forcefully, which led to bruises on her arms.
An FIR has been lodged against the three unknown accused and the cops are looking at CCTV footage from nearby areas to find a clue.
