Panicked parents of the 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, waited for news of their children's health which is stated to be critical. The girl had been shot by the boy in the Vasundhara area of Ghaziabad who then turned the gun on himself. Police have registered an FIR in this matter against the boy, following a complaint by the girl's uncle.

According to police, the girl sustained two bullet injuries to her head. The boy later shot at himself with the same weapon and had left the spot. He was later found injured state just 100 meters away from the girl's body."The doctors have removed the two bullets from the girl's head and a bullet from the boy's body. However, both of them are still critical and have not gained consciousness. They both are still in Intensive Care Unit, the girl is more critical as her wounds are stated to be deeper," said a senior police officer.

On Wednesday, around 7 pm the two were going for tuitions at Vasundhara Sector 4 on a scooter when the boy shot her after an altercation, with his father's licensed weapon, police said. The minors are residents of Vasundhara.

The boy studies in class 11 at a private school in Vasundhara while the girl, police said, is a class 10 student at a Geeta Colony school in east Delhi.Initial investigation has revealed that the boy fired two bullets at the girl and she fell unconscious. He then went to a nearby place and shot himself. The two were rushed to a hospital where both underwent operations.

Police also said that the crime seemed planned as the boy had taken his father's licensed weapon in his bag."The weapon is licensed in the name of the boy's father and he has joined us for questioning. We have registered an FIR against the boy on the basis of the girl's uncle's complaint. We will initiate the investigation once the boy gains consciousness," an officer added.Police said the boy stole the gun from his father's almirah. His father is a property dealer while the girl's father is an engineer with a private firm.
